The seafront and promenade
Long sandy beaches, a landscaped promenade, most of the city's hotel offering. The most pleasant area for a short stay.

Ashdod is not a tourist city, and it has to be said frankly: its hotel offering is limited. Only a few properties, mainly by the sea and in the center.
That does not make it a bad base. The beaches are long and uncrowded, the city is thirty minutes from Tel Aviv and an hour from Jerusalem, and its French-speaking community is one of the largest in the country.
It is also our city: our offices are in Ashdod. We know these properties and these neighborhoods other than through an online listing.
Properties in central Ashdod offer rates well below the seafront, with the beach ten minutes away by car.
Simple hotels and residences in the center and residential neighborhoods, functional rooms, breakfast often included. Shops, supermarkets and kosher restaurants close by.
Family visits, business stays linked to the port and industrial zone, and those who use Ashdod as a base to explore Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
The actual distance to the beach and parking availability, which is not always straightforward. And how close the shops really are, as the city is very spread out from one neighborhood to another.
In Ashdod, most French-speaking families don't stay in a hotel. They rent an apartment, and it is often the right choice.
Apartments and residences with a fully equipped kitchen, several bedrooms and often a balcony, in neighborhoods close to the sea. A much more economical option than one or two hotel rooms once the stay exceeds a few nights.
Large families, stays of a week or more, visits during the holidays, and those who want to prepare their own meals.
The floor and whether there is an elevator, as many older buildings have none. The kitchen's actual equipment. And the neighborhood, because the atmosphere and services change completely from one area to another.
Ashdod's seafront offers the best the city has: long sandy beaches, few people, and sunsets over the Mediterranean.
The few properties overlooking the promenade and the beach, with spacious rooms, sea views and direct access to the sand. A limited offering that books up early in high season.
Short stays where you want to rest, family visits where you prefer a comfortable hotel to an apartment, and weekends.
What the “sea view” label actually covers, often partial depending on the floor. The distance to the promenade. And local peak periods, as Ashdod's beaches are very busy with Israelis on Fridays and during the holidays.

Modern, residential, very popular with the French-speaking community. Kosher restaurants, synagogues, shops. Many holiday rentals.
Commercial and convenient, with the gentlest rates. No particular tourist interest, but well served.
Quiet and family-friendly, suited to long stays and family visits. A car is useful there.
No interest for a leisure stay, but this is where accommodation for business travel is located.
Ashdod is one of the most convenient cities in Israel in this respect. Kashrut is the norm rather than the exception, synagogues are numerous in every neighborhood, and many shops naturally close for Shabbat.
You don't have to look for a kosher hotel: the question rarely arises. On the other hand, the city really does stop on Friday afternoon, transport stops and most shops close until Saturday evening. You need to plan your shopping and travel accordingly.
We give you the Shabbat start and end times for your dates and the synagogue closest to your accommodation, and we check the Shabbat elevator when you stay on a high floor. For rentals, we specify what is provided in the property.
Passover and the Tishrei holidays fill the city, especially holiday rentals, as the French-speaking community returns in large numbers. You need to book several months in advance.
Yes, most of the time. Ashdod is a sprawling city divided into neighborhoods far from one another, and distances that look short on a map are hard going on foot, especially in summer.
A car becomes truly essential if you plan to explore: Tel Aviv is thirty minutes away, Jerusalem an hour, and Ashkelon just to the south. It is our original business and we are based here, so we know exactly where to pick up a vehicle without wasting time.
