Hotels in Eilat: between the lagoon, beach and center, location is everything

In Eilat, almost every hotel advertises the sea. In practice, some open directly onto it, while others are a fifteen-minute walk away in forty-degree heat. That is the first thing to check.

The city is compact but divided into very different areas: the lagoon and its row of hotels, North Beach, Coral Beach farther south near the reefs, and the shopping center set back from the water.

This page is organized by stay profile, not hotel category. Find yours.

Good deals and small budgets: the sea just minutes away

Moving three hundred meters back from the sand can halve the nightly price for the same beach.

    What this category looks like

Simple hotels and residences in the city center or on the heights, often with a pool but without direct beach access. Functional rooms, breakfast generally included, and a five- to fifteen-minute walk to the sea.

    Who it is for

Stays where days are spent outside or in the water, groups of friends, and families who prefer to spend their budget on activities, diving or excursions.

    What we check for you

The real distance to the beach, and above all the elevation difference: some hotels advertise a ten-minute walk that is uphill on the way back. And whether there is a shuttle, which changes everything in summer.

Ideal for families with children: all-inclusive and the beach within reach

In Eilat more than elsewhere, all-inclusive makes sense: it is hot, people rarely go out at midday, and children eat at all hours.

    What this category looks like

Hotels on the lagoon and North Beach offering half board or all-inclusive, with pools, entertainment and kids’ clubs. Family or connecting rooms, buffets open for long hours, and often direct or very close access to the beach.

    Who it is for

Families with young children or teenagers, week-long stays, and school holidays when you do not want to reorganize every day.

    What we check for you

What the all-inclusive package really covers, as its scope varies enormously from one hotel to another: drinks, afternoon snacks, spa access. The child age policy. And whether the kids’ club is operating on your dates, as it closes outside Israeli school holidays.

Comfort and a prime location: right on the water

In this range, you are paying for the private beach, the Red Sea view and the mountains of Jordan opposite.

    What this category looks like

The North Beach seafront and the entrance to the lagoon. Spacious rooms with a balcony and view, a spa, several pools, an equipped beach and refined dining. You leave the room and you are there.

    Who it is for

Short stays where you want to rest without organizing, trips marking an occasion, and couples who come first and foremost for peace and the sea.

    What we check for you

The real difference between “sea view” and “side sea view,” which weighs heavily on the rate for an angle from the balcony. The room’s orientation, crucial at sunset. And the condition of the facilities, as several lagoon properties renovate in phases.

Which area should you stay in Eilat?

    The lagoon

The densest concentration of hotels, with a promenade, restaurants and marina. Lively, convenient, family-friendly. The beach is a few minutes away depending on the hotel.

    North Beach

Direct access to the sand for seafront properties. The most sought-after area, and the most expensive.

    Coral Beach, in the south

Near the coral reserve and diving clubs. Quieter and closer to nature, but far from restaurants and shops.

    The city center

Set back from the sea, with shops, supermarkets and the lowest rates. The right compromise if you plan to move around.

    The heights

Panoramic views over the gulf, absolute peace, but a car or shuttle becomes necessary.

Kosher hotels and Shabbat services in Eilat

Eilat has a large share of the country’s kosher all-inclusive offering, making it a highly sought-after destination during the holidays. But certification levels and Shabbat arrangements vary from one property to another.

    What lies behind “kosher hotel”

The kitchen certification and the rabbinical authority that issues it, the presence of a Shabbat lift and the floors it serves, how magnetic keys work from Friday evening to Saturday evening, how meals and buffets are organized during Shabbat, the availability of a hotplate, and the hotel synagogue.

    What we do

We check these points property by property before you book. For all-inclusive packages, we also check what remains accessible during Shabbat, as the scope is often reduced without this being announced.

    Traveling during the holidays

Passover and Sukkot are the two busiest periods of the year in Eilat, and hotels with kosher packages fill several months in advance. Rates change, full board generally becomes mandatory, and the best properties go first. We will tell you honestly what remains available and at what price.

Do you need a car in Eilat?

Within Eilat itself, rarely. The city is compact, shuttles operate, and seafront parking is difficult. If you stay on the lagoon or North Beach, you will do everything on foot.

But Eilat is also the starting point for some of the country’s finest excursions: the Negev Desert, Ramon Crater, Timna, and the road to the Dead Sea and Masada. For that, a car is essential. Many of our clients fly from Tel Aviv and take a vehicle locally for only two or three days.
